Implant Treatment

Implant treatment is the process of placing artificial tooth roots (implants) placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth and placing prosthetic teeth on these roots. Implants are usually made of titanium and mimic natural tooth roots, providing a stable and durable solution. Implant treatment provides many advantages both aesthetically and functionally.

Implant Treatment Process

1. Değerlendirme ve Planlama:

   • The dentist evaluates the oral structure of the patient, examines the condition of the jawbone and takes into account the general health status.
   • X-ray and sometimes 3D tomography images are taken and the bone structure and the position of the nerves are examined in detail.
   • A treatment plan is created, the number of implants and the areas to be placed are determined.

2. Cerrahi İşlem:

   • Implants are placed under local anesthesia.
   • The area where the implant will be placed in the jawbone is opened and the implant is placed in the bone in the form of a screw.
   • It is waited for 3-6 months for the implant to fuse with the bone (osseointegration).

3. İyileşme Süreci:

   • In the process of fusing the implant with the jawbone, the gingiva heals.
   • Temporary prostheses can be used during this period.

4. Abutment Yerleştirme:

   • After the osseointegration is completed, a spacer called abutment is placed on the implant. This part provides the connection between the implant and the prosthetic tooth.
   • After the gingiva heals, the abutment is closed.

5. Protez Dişlerin Yerleştirilmesi:

   • Prosthetic teeth (crown, bridge or prosthesis) prepared in line with the measurements taken by the dentist are placed on the abutment.
   • Prosthetic teeth provide a natural appearance and function.

Implant Types

1. Tek Diş İmplantları:

   • It is used when a single tooth is missing. A prosthetic tooth is placed on a single implant.

2. Çoklu Diş İmplantları:

   • In cases where more than one tooth is missing, prosthetic teeth in the form of bridges are placed on several implants.

3. Tüm Ağız İmplantları:

   • It is used in cases where all teeth are missing in the lower or upper jaw. Usually, full jaw prostheses are placed on 4-6 implants (All-on-4 or All-on-6 systems).
